Beverage producers and bottling/bibbing plants are located worldwide. Through our global network we procure efficient and cost effective transportation solutions that meet high standards of safety, quality and environmental impact. For environmental purposes, we prefer train, ship and combi transports, but of course we also offer trucking where required.
Often our customers handle the contact with the producer, and we arrange the transport and pick the goods up at agreed time and place.
For transport services we use Incoterms 2010. The most common terms we use are FOB (Free on Board) and FCA (Free Carrier).
Example: Ship from South Africa
The producer arranges the transport to the harbour in Cape Town, since FOB is the dominating Incoterm in South Africa.
From Cape Town, Lagena arrange sea transportation. The goods are loaded in containers and are shipped to any of the large European ports. There the container is reloaded to a smaller feeder boat, which takes the container to a Swedish harbour. For the most common route the goods are unloaded in the harbour of Södertälje. From there a truck transports the container to our warehouse in Jordbro.
Example: Train from Italy
When we arrange transportation from Italy the goods are loaded in a trailer at the producer’s facility, after which we pick the trailer up and take it to a terminal. At the terminal, the trailer is loaded on a train, which takes the trailer, without reloading, through Europe to Årsta Combi Terminal south of Stockholm. There the trailer is unloaded and transported to our warehouse in Jordbro.
For transports from Italy the most common Incoterm is FCA.
Example: Combi transport from France
When you order a transport with us from France, we coordinate your order with other orders from the same area, to co-load and reach as high a filling as possible.
Our transporter picks up the goods at the producer at agreed time. The first leg is by truck to a terminal in Belgium. There the goods are reloaded to a container and is shipped by boat to Gothenburg. In Gothenburg the goods are loaded back onto a truck, for transportation to the warehouse of Lagena in Jordbro.
The Combi transport from France has proven to be both cost effective, efficient and advantageous for the environment. It also offers reliable capacity.
