Lagena handles the logistics for many of the largest importers and producers of wines, spirits and beer. We transport their products from locations around the world, store them and distribute them.
Our specialized and professional services, competitive pricing and focus on continuous improvement make Lagena the first choice for beverage importers.
AMKA
The family company AMKA started in 1978 in Denmark with small scale import and sales from the garage of the founder Ann-Marie Søndergaard. Today the company is a large wine importer with business in the Nordic and Baltic countries, Poland, Germany and Portugal.
AMKA changed to Lagena as logistics partner a couple of years ago.
- We need a logistics partner that we can trust 100%. With Lagena we feel that the operation is safe and steady. It also feels like Lagena is developing very positively with the new owner JF Hillebrand, says Anders Fredriksson who is Managing Director of AMKA Sverige.
AMKA has long been successful within e-business. And the e-business channel has high priority in the future due to Anders Fredriksson. In connection with the beverages fairs “Det Goda Köket” in November they launched the e-business in Sweden under the name e-wine.
- We believe in the e-business in Sweden. We have a high level of maturity for e-business and a geography and limited access that makes web purchases interesting for many people.
Apricot
Since the start 2005 Apricot has grown rapidly. The larger and more varied the volumes have grown, the greater the logistic challenges. Some of the brands that Apricot import are Campos De Luz, Gosa Monastrell and Rosie. The partnership between Apricot and Lagena started during the summer of 2009.
“The relationship has been great from the start. Our processes have been more efficient, the costs have been reduced and the inventory turnover has increased”, says Niklas Palm-Jensen, founder and Managing Director of Apricot.
He emphasizes that the cooperation between Apricot and Lagena is based on classic specialization, where each part is expert within its area.
“We are specialists in wines and other alcoholic beverages. Lagena is expert in beverage logistics”.
Arvid Nordquist
In Spring 2008, when Peter Dannqvist started his job responsible for logistics and production at Arvid Nordquist, his ambition was to get control over, integrate and refine the company’s logistics flows. Which, thanks to partnership with Lagena, he did.
“I am very pleased with the co-operation we have with Lagena. They understand our requirements, and offer excellent customer service and deliver high quality to Systembolaget, wholesalers and restaurants” says Peter Dannqvist.
He believes that it is vital that Lagena keeps developing and strengthening their specialist competency and development capability within beverage logistics. He underlines that specialized competence makes a difference, and also makes Lagena unique on the market.
For Arvid Nordquist, logistics with environmental care is an important area of development for all logistics partners. “To us it is crucial to minimize our negative effect on the environment in each part in the supply chain. When we chose logistics partner it was of great importance to find one that could match our long-term determination in environmental work.”
Chris-Wine
The Danish family company Chris-Wine was founded in 1973 of Erling Carl. Since then the company has developed from a one man company to an expansive Group with marketing companies in all the Nordic countries and production units in France and Romania.
Heli Karvonen, responsible for the purchasing and logistics of Chris-Wine, emphasizes that it is a matter of survival that the logistics processes meet high standards. “It is not good enough to deliver the right product on the right time to the right position. We also need to make sure that the products are handled in a correct way,” Heli states.
Which are the strengths of Lagena? Both Heli Karvonen and Patrik Stare, Manager for the Swedish marketing company Chris-Wine Sweden, believe that the our expertise within beverage logistics and high quality service make Lagena the clear choice.
Vingruppen
With a turn over of nearly one billion Swedish kronor, Vingruppen is one of the three leading importers of the wine industry in Sweden. That the company is growing fast, reflected in the fact that the company is on the “Gasell” list of the financial newspaper Dagens Industri, as one of the fastest growing companies in Sweden.
“To us, responsiveness, service and information management are key requirements. We consider Lagena as best on the market on this”, says Claes Lindkvist, Managing Director of Vingruppen.
Logistics manager Kerstin Green agrees.”The information management system Kylix is definitely a competitive advantage for Lagena. Kylix gives us real time control of our flows and availability”.
Kerstin Green is excited about the ongoing development work at Lagena. She emphasizes that an important quality at a logistics partner is the ability to continuously develop and improve.
